27mm vs 35mm Piezo

I'm in the process of replacing the piezos in my Roland PD-120 pad because I've read about how the original piezos are considered "too hot" for the Megadrum. Last year I bought a bunch of 27mm Murata (part # 7BB-27-4L0) piezos from Mouser. The original center piezo in the Roland PD-120 underneath the cone is a 27mm, so I feel confident with replacing that with the Murata piezo. The original rim piezo in the Roland looks to be 35mm. I plan on moving the location of the rim piezo to a more central location on the metal bar underneath the decoupler platform for the cone/center piezo. Do I need to use 35mm piezos for the rim trigger or is the 27mm fine to use? It seems like Murata has stopped making the 35mm and they are much more difficult to find now.

Also, do I need to change the wiring going to the output jack on the Roland PD-120 or does that not matter at all?
